My theory of punctuated equilibrium during hyphenation.

My theory of punctuated equilibrium during hyphenation.

A Poem by andrew mitchell

The hyphenation
between yesterday
and tomorrow
is today,
the future at present
has no full stop,
neither did the beginning
which brings us to today.
Thanks to comma,
I paused to reflect
before I am accelerated
once again
to my epitaph,
a life sentence.
All the while I was followed
by my exclamation
and I didn't have time
to leave a trail
of question marks.

i appreciate this as you can imagine....the grammar nerd in me.
and the metaphor is great.
i think our lives are mostly filled with commas...just pauses.
we seem in life to never find definitive answers...so no periods...
some ellipses...
but not the full stops.
only visits, hesitations and then moving on toward more question marks.

A very clever use of punctuation. . . but have you never experienced an ellipsis?
