Who dunnit? Done what? Are you ok?

Who dunnit? Done what? Are you ok?

A Poem by andrew mitchell

Who murdered the lettuce?
I did. said the slug
in all the news chatter,
it was the last one you see.
I killed the lettuce!

Who saw him die?
I said the fly
with my two bug eyes
I even saw him cry
the shrivelled weakling.
I saw him die!

It was not the slug
in all the news chatter
and you lied fly
for it was I,
the gardener,
I murdered the lettuce
and you bugs will die!

We interrupt this writing
with an important news break.
Sorry! You can't say the lettuce was murdered!
So it never happened then
even though it did!
Yep! Just act like it didn't happen.
Privileged information
You know MI5, FBI, that sort of thing!
So what happened then?
I don't know! You tell me!
I can't say my lips are sealed.
Now that's better.

A lettuce was found dead tonight,
there were no suspicious circumstances
probably natural causes.

The End.

Oh my what 'heady' stuff! "Let-us" just sit down together and figure this out!! Agatha Christie stuff fit for a vegetarian!

this is very reminiscent of shel silverstein’s work...absolutely adore the
whimsical yet cynicism weaved throughout this...most
enjoyable

yes, salt comes in handy when dealing with slugs & other entities
