The legend of King Ask-her and the nights of the weathered table.

The legend of King Ask-her and the nights of the weathered table.

A Poem by andrew mitchell

Not another Askurian tale!
Hello King Ask- her.
How is Queen Gin or beer?
Funny you ask!
She has a lot of tit lately,
but not a lot of tat.
And so the story goes
a lot of tit for tat.
And what's happening
around the weathered table?
Everything! replied King Ask-her.
The Queen and I share
Nights of rain,
Nights of yawn,
a Night of sleep,
a Night of romps
on Nights of Satin,
and Nights of moon.
What about your quest?
Its all about now!
There's no stopping now,
now is the mission.
But does now have
all the answers?
Unfortunately no!
We only have the questions for now.

Loved those tales of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round table. You also got me thinking of the Moody Blues with those nights of satin. Yes, a favourite song from yesteryear Nights in White Satin, never reaching the end. You took me back to my youth Andrew and I thank you for that.

you too Chris and many warm thanks for reading my writes in 2019.
Nights of the Round Table where Poking was played...
you have made me join your charade... although I
was borne to relish bedtime stories. The best of mischievous
moments to you as the ancient tales unfold under
suspicious circumstances. truly, Pat

hahaha thanks for entertaining the thoughts Pat of Nights of Ribald!
Love this story Andrew...kinda reminds me of an old joke...utterly un-PC of course but I'll chance the PC police.

"She offered her honour...he honoured her offer. And it went like that all night...honour...offer...honour...offer.

Not as good as your poem but thought I'd share what your poem brought to mind. ;>}

Okay so i laughed and wondered where Murlyn was when you were penning this?! Your words are a super sweet, slightly crazy touch of King Ask-her-esque-ness! Could call it an absolute cracker!
