The birth of a line.

The birth of a line.

A Poem by andrew mitchell

When did the thought
turn poetic?
When it decided
to run away
as a verse?
Or was it
in the hope
that the thought
in question
became a line
which in turn
left its mark
to become immortal
well after its creator was dead
where a man collected Poe.
