Cancelled, the trip to the moon.

Cancelled, the trip to the moon.

A Poem by andrew mitchell

I would have followed your word
to the moon  and back
but like a toy,
you threw me away.
You went back on your word
locking your love away.
In a second hand shop
I saw your locket.

Saw her locket, maybe a gift, in a second hand shop. Talk about adding insult to injury.

Rejection here and that hurts. A love that didn't last. Poignant piece here Andrew.

Thanks Chris there are a few of those going around, loves that didn’t last.
I remember young love and feeling like this , like I was just thrown away like a toy..
and yes their love his then second hand as I found someone else ! That’s what I took from your poem.

You are most welcome. :)
A sad ending to the poetry my friend Andrew. A toss away toy. A sad place to land. Thank you for sharing the amazing poetry.
