In the ambience of you.

In the ambience of you.

A Poem by andrew mitchell

Penetrating the still of you
I saw your tombstone
cheerless as the sky
in stone, leaden grey,
dressed in lichen moss
parading in the light of day.
Thoughts did travel
our ancestral plane
when you were you,
part of the family tree.
I remember when....
I was the swing
you the support
I needed,
but now motionless,
I sit in your ambience
waiting for the wind.
