A lifetime of living in thoughts.

A lifetime of living in thoughts.

A Poem by andrew mitchell

In the room of the magnificent,
the interior decorated
with wonders and curiosities
the door is open
and the window of opportunities awaits.
While we entertain
the idea we spend
a third of our lifetime sleeping,
it’s not all bad,
we live most of our lives
inside our heads.
When everything stays
beyond the days end
we can only try
to make it welcoming,
clean and tidy
in a lifetime of living
in thoughts.

dearest Andrew... a lifetime of living with or "in" our
thoughts... learning for years... even after fifty or so...
learning is so much more interesting... like when the
Moon has a "Ring of Fire... an eclipse of the Moon...
around Fathers Day weekend June 2020. Or trying to
understand why people would burn buildings where
it took years to start a family business. The Sky is made and
prepared for an Eclipse of the Sun or the Moon. I think if
people act like Animals they should be herded as such.
But that's another poem. I am over thinking my thoughts.
truly, Pat

Thank you Pat for your words and how true they are.
Good point. We do spend a whole lot of time engaged with our thoughts. The dangerous thing is that many of those thoughts are negative ones.

You are so right John. Thanks for your visit.
i think the thoughts might be most active during that one-third of our lives...
but as Petula Clark sang...
Don't sleep in the subway...
