Doing the rounds when....

Doing the rounds when....

A Poem by andrew mitchell

Tranquility resided
outside the window,
when opportunity knocked
down the door.
“Are you the milkman?” said the owner.
“No! I’m Karma.
Inside the government’s mind
chaos ruled on
the back of the greenback.
As the flutter of notes
butterflied away
Karma was doing the rounds.
“ Have you see the chicken?”
“Yes! He crossed the road.”
“Jolly good!” said Karma.

I have no idea what this means, but I love this writing -- so fresh & snappy & intriguing! The first four lines = the kickass opening we all would die for. So witty = "on the back of the greenback" . . . "flutter of notes butterflied away" . . . & most of all, I love your personification of abstract concepts . . . don't see that done much, if at all, & now I want to try it! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie
