The family tree of coconuts!

The family tree of coconuts!

A Poem by andrew mitchell

Reds and browns,
the shedding of old,
those frowns let go.
The birth of new growth
evergreen behind the ears
looked forward to
the spring of life.
The sway in
the family tree
did seem to wither,
but rejoiced on
the new buds
that brought a smile
to life’s harvest.
It was just
too bad we were
one big coconut tree,
and all those who stood
below the tree
were knocked off
one by one
in Agatha’s new book titled.
A family full of coconuts.
It’s all quite ridiculous really
that’s why we chop
down family trees
for the sake
of the tree
living happily
ever after.

I don't know what this poem is saying, overall, or if Agatha Christie really has a book thusly-named, but I definitely relate to the family-tree-as-coconuts concept. My favorite part is how anyone standing within head-bonking closeness to such a family (as mine) is bound to be tortured -- kinda reminds me of a certain "first family" of seriously cracked coconuts who won't abdicate the throne just now! *wink! wink!* Fondly, Margie
