Where parallel eyes cross.

Where parallel eyes cross.

A Poem by andrew mitchell

What answers lie
where parallel eyes cross
when the love rolled out
from the hermit shell empty?
Did the wandering heart
find true love
on its lonely crusade?
Not all was lost
for the meandering mind,
had a follower -
a former shadow of itself.
Did anyone hear
the teardrop break?
And did the flower bloom
on yesterday's sadness;
on the tear that was shed?
Where lives entwined
from the ocean of hearts,
there was a point of no return,
and I felt the wind
wrap its arms around me
I had lost my shell.

Wonderful imagery and phraseology in this one Andrew Mitchell. Every things you write has depth and power of thought behind it. What is in your wallet after all? Just kidding on the last line only...

i agree with jacob ..closing lines are moving and enchanting .. Hermit hearts too vulnerable to live outside their shells ... and "from the ocean of hearts,
there was a point of no return" .. so true ... the images speaks to me sir! thanks for sharing a rather intimate piece says i ...once a Hermit crab me self ;)
