In a state of discombobulating.

In a state of discombobulating.

A Poem by andrew mitchell

In a near state of discombobulating
I fell over the whatchamacallit.
I was gobsmacked
such a rigmarole
with all the shenanigans.
Some said it was a thingamyjig!
Confuzzled I said balderdash,
fiddle-fiddle humbug
with a cherry on the
fiddle-dee-dee Willy-nilly top.
Everyone shouted. Egads!
I thought fuddy-duddy,
cattywumpus,beejeebers.
I was really flabbergasted
at the kerfuffle.
At this stage I called hullabaloo,
I was over the skullduggery.
What a load of poppycock!
Just another bogus balderdash,
what a malarkey, britches and all!
Total nincompoop nucklehead!
Oh well! It’s all skewwiff
I better skedaddle.
Just a load of baloney, bogus material
over whosemegadget.
Anyway forget the hoohaa!

this is very humorous and once again highlights the necessity of a purely Australian dictionary!
We have been watching a few Aussie movies lately and I now realize why I can barely understand a word they say
Have you seen Mystery road
Thought it was great but had no idea what they were talking about

Well I was certainly discombobulating after reading it! Great word play and I am certain I could never have had the stamina to dredge up all those saying we all know but seldom question or use. Filled with humour,

Some of the old sayings are classics lol. Thank you for your words J and stopping by.
What a terrific collection of words, arranged like puzzle pieces into something oddly coherent. I wish I had thought of this one first but you executed it so artfully.

Thank you very much dear poet.
This feels like a tune to me,
so I'll take the opportunity,
to state in a major voice
that I didn't have a choice
but to put a match to a taper
and place my pen upon this paper.
Not since old Pierre caused a muddle
when he said fuddle duddle
or other words to that effect
did that younger world reflect
and did the Press duly snicker
that old Pierre was somewhat slicker
who did pirouette behind the Queen
such a sight has not been seen
but of all the words that could be said
she never said "off with his head".

Good write Andrew

Many of these words are some of my favorites, which I use all the time! I had to click on your poem right away becuz "discombobulated" is my constant state of mind! People are often flabbergasted at my poetry while all my friends are engaged in shenanigans that either lead to a hullabaloo or a kerfuffle! Man, you got all my faves! I love this. I bes' skedaddle now (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie
