I do wonder about those two!

I do wonder about those two!

A Poem by andrew mitchell

I wonder
what Adam and Eve
did for a job?
Were there any jobs back then?
Were they on God’s payroll?
Wonder how the leaves
that covered their parts
stuck on?
I wondered if they ever wondered
what’s it all about Alfie?
I wonder if they spoke English,
and who told them
about what goes
under the leaf sheets?
That little red book
wasn’t out then
or the joys of sex.
I wonder if God
made the Earth move
for them.
I hope he wasn’t watching.

I read your poem first, with YOU in mind . . . knowing you're a simple straightforward poet who is probably simply saying "I've always wondered!" But then I reread & catch symbolism left & right . . . all the ways gullible humans buy into whatever rubbish creed is being dished out by those who thrive on cramming their influence down some unsuspecting throats. In short, your poem asks many pressing questions, but the question I hear is: "how can people follow so blindly without questioning?" (a big problem in the USA these days) Thanks for tolerating my grinding mind (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie
