In the knowledge being pursued.

In the knowledge being pursued.

A Poem by andrew mitchell

In the pursuit
of knowledge;
three things found
brought about the
demise of man:
the discovery of time,
the making of the mirror
and death.

Had he stayed in yesterday
instead of venturing forth
into tomorrow
he maybe still
be here today.
One must be careful
of what we seek.
we may not like
what we see.

Alas, now we all suffer
from the fate
of first man's discoveries
as the gates are opened.
We all could have enjoyed
the journey safe and warm
sitting in the our armchairs.

A little knowledge can be a dangerous thing or maybe ignorance is bliss. I thought of both of those two old sayings as I read your poem Andrew. I:ve never tried living in ignorance. I always have to dig deeper at my own peril.
