If only management could tell the truth just once!

If only management could tell the truth just once!

A Poem by andrew mitchell

The price one paid
for going to work
was having your spirit broken,
and who should be
cruel to rule
talking with fork tongues
but the CEO and manager together
with their small man, woman syndrome.
Yes! The patronising hierarchy
sits on a perch gloating
with bloated wallets
where those in need
in the force do not
get their over inflated bonuses.
When the two headed monster
slaps you on the back
of your head hard
for making a mistake,
he/she is shaking you hand
for being such a good worker.
What is one to believe?
When a little bit of truth
could go further...
their credibility dies
on their transparency
to deceive.

This really hits with me right now because of certain things that have just happened in my work life that have really made me step back and think for a moment. I do agree with the sentiment, probably more than I even wish to since I want to believe that there are good people at the top although it is uniquely hard to survive there. That part at the end about "their credibility dies on their transparency to deceive" is sort of uniquely ironic in its accuracy, especially today when "transparency" is such a huge selling point for different companies. Good read, I enjoyed it; it made me think.
