Adversely affected.

Adversely affected.

A Poem by andrew mitchell

The ministry of poetic justice today
slammed the twaddle with a paddle,
the show of words didn’t glow,
the candle on the mantle
in need of light for the fight
said the verse was adversely coerced
when the line fitted the crime
and the dime refused to shine.
Yes! When the full stop was dropped,
the flooring in the pouring collapsed,
the poem packed was ransacked
leaving it empty.
The fragility of it all.

I would like to be associated with the clever words of the writer above. Who is becoming more Learish by the day. Or rather by the poem.

One of your best poems of 2021 so far! This is a slightly biting, but fun spoof on us flailing self-critical writers, sporting a strong extended metaphor to reveal such a sad lack of law & order. Clever rhyming wordplay in your animated dressing down! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie
