Of all things, not love!

Of all things, not love!

A Poem by andrew mitchell

What’s the matter?
I don’t feel well. I think
our love is getting stronger.
What! Quick get the love repellent!
Where is it?
It’s in the cupboard.
Don’t forget to spray
the windows of opportunity.
Got it! We don’t want these nasty
airborne particles of love
getting outside infecting
the neighbourhood, our cities
and the world.
No! Of course not.
Phew!That was close.
Imagine if love made
the world go round.
I perish the thought.
Remember Valentines Day
so many flowers were lost.
Anyway, any sign of lust?
Maybe....maybe not!

are the flowers ever replaced?
can love grow again where it has been displaced.'
If love could only spread as fast and far and wide as this pandemic...how sweet that would be.
