In the streak of savagery.

In the streak of savagery.

A Poem by andrew mitchell

There was savagery
in your play
dancing with flames,
torching young hearts
only to leave love
dry in the scorching sun.

The stakes were
raised high
when your heart
kneeled before me
exposing your love.

There was always savagery
in the taking
as there was
in letting go.

Wow, I love this. This is brilliant. The comparison of flames and the scorching sun is perfect, not to mention the last stanza is absolutely beautiful. The name caught my attention also, and it's obvious how much love and passion went into this!
