A tax on being air tight!

A tax on being air tight!

A Poem by andrew mitchell

Politicians have only
just discovered that
voters are human,
and that we all
breathe in air.
Hence as of the
next financial year
there will be a
tax levy on the use of air,
also the ground we walk on,
and a flying levy for
those who use air
for transport,
As for blowing one’s air
only a fine will occur
which will end up
in their coffers anyway.
Less is more in this case
so save and die choking.

Altho this poem is nicely sarcastic & extensively detailed to good effect, there's a hidden irony served up with your obvious satire. AIR is the commodity that's been pretty much attacked during this past year, the act of breathing having been distorted to such a degree (I still have never worn a face mask -- I would rather be alone in the wilderness than to do what's needed in public these days!) . . . it's as if COVID is the one sucking the life out of our air & politicians just love to jump on a trend & exploit it (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

It is ironic that some will lose life and others will profit from it. Thanks Margie.
