The treason of free verse.

The sentence that ran off
with the paragraph
breaking through
the vocabulary road blocks,
jumping over commas
finally became free...
there was no
rhyme or reason.

The treason of free verse
came from the highwaymen
attacking the page, coach
with their pens drawn.
Putting their words
in one basket
they rode on
another verse,
another day.
