In the house of cards.

In the house of cards.

A Poem by andrew mitchell

There was
nothing worse
than receiving
good wishes
from those
who didn’t
really wish
you well.
In the house
of cards shuffled
you could see
the joker
in the deck
playing his part
amongst the
Kings and Queens
and the Jack of Hearts.
Life was the reshuffle
you never got
but time
made you
pick up
fifty two.
