The broken smile.

The broken smile.

A Poem by andrew mitchell

During the revolution
of the imprisoned mind
cell mates anxiety and fear
remained behind bars
while a smile
tried to break out
from the castration
of happy thoughts
the blues rose
from the horizon
coming in waves,
the Great Depression -
the man in the moon
shed a tear.

He is shedding a lot of tears over this past year and a half....
someone needs to take a mop to the cell floors...

No wonder the moon is looking dry lately. Thanks J.
Good use of metaphor here Andrew to describe how depression can make us feel like prisoners behind bars. Hope all is OK with you.
