How now brown cow!

How now brown cow!

A Poem by andrew mitchell

What is love anyway
blatantly denied
your universal emotion
I saw your footprints
across the Milky Way.
A hitch hiker’s guide
to your heart
was no more
a galaxy of stars
that have tried
but failed.
So how now brown cow?
As your black hole
is your shadow
that passes over
the rocket debris
of broken hearts
that orbit your altar
as a reminder -
Love is not for sale.
How wise the comet
that sees you and flees.
In the Big Bang
your time will come
until then the sun,
and the moon are
watching you.

An explosive poem, straight from the hip, yet elegantly poetic. Is as if a nudge, a warning - each subtly placed area showing another face, ending in those five lines at the end.

As for this: ' .. ' the rocket debris - of broken hearts - that orbit your altar - as a reminder - Love is not for sale. ' Could be the final bullet.
