Amusing Andrew. I use hit me like a brick frequently. Yep a brick might inflict a bit of metaphorical damage, a truck would finish you off altogether.

Hi KWP, it’s based on the lines “ and then it hit me like a brick” ie the answer to a problem came about. Or the slang terms “ I got hit by a truck” they are all figures of speech in a comical sense like doing a crossword you have the clue, you ponder you ponder, then the answer hits you. It’s a silly write lol

You are right it is a silly write, a touch of sarcasm and lots of frustration out of not having anything to write. In all honesty it’s pathetic and that’s how I feel right now the mojo of writing has gone and maybe that is a relief.:)
