In space no one can hear you scream.

In space no one can hear you scream.

A Poem by andrew mitchell

I wanted to
write about
the universe,
but only a
vastness of nothing
came to mind,
maybe a comma
in passing
followed by
a period of silence
that echoed
an emptiness
inside a scribbled note.
Yes, in space
no one can
hear you scream,
it’s a mind set
that explodes
into sparkling
twinkles that
catches the eye
as one searches
for shadows
in the night sky,
while across the page
the black hole
vacuums your dreams
away while the moon
appears unmoved.
