A homeless concerto.

A homeless concerto.

A Poem by andrew mitchell

He who shouts
Get out!
at the beggar’s waltz
knows nothing
of their dance.

Can't understand it until we have been through it ourselves.

Until we have walked in the beggar's shoes, we are unfit to comment. Amazing bit of brevity Andrew. Well done.

Those who mock know nothing of the details of such survival. Sometimes humanity has a knack of walking into chapter 50 and assume they know the happenings of all previous chapters - brilliant poem Andrew :)

I agree this is a thought provoking piece. For me it speaks of empathy or a lack there of. We fail to see the circumstances that has led one into this beggar's waltz and in doing so stripped them of humanity. They are treated with indifference and seen more as a stray animal than a human being. A nuisance to society which brings discomfort and revulsion. This is a very important piece Andrew thank you for sharing.

Thought-provoking. I'm reminded of our Native Americans, who generally don't believe that Mother Earth can be owned by specific people. "Get out!" may mean something completely different to someone who does not see boundaries (((HUGS)))
