At what point
did you feel
evicted?
When I was told
to let go.
What was it like
letting go?
The free fall
was incredible,
floating, spinning,
caressed by the wind.
And.....?
Until I hit
the ground
and felt my
veins crack
and I was left
a crumbled
red, orange wreck.
Was that the worst
thing to happen
falling to your
pending doom?
No! It was looking
up at mother standing
upright against
the blue sky,
as if nothing
happened,
not even shedding
a tear.
love the personification here....works so well because as those leaves, we turn colors in the autumn of our lives and we fall from the tree, wondering if anyone sees us fall, and sheds even a lone tear.

I just read a story which included an explanation of how this natural arch in the vicinity of Grand Canyon, called the Rainbow Bridge, is a very high desolate place where people intentionally jump to their deaths. Reading this, I had to stop & wonder what it would take to leap like that? I sure don't have what it would take. But I do take a leap every day in my mind & that's just fine (((HUGS)))
