Verse overboard starboard side!A Poem by andrew mitchell
In the heat
of the moment to be captured on a wave of the missing the sun will rise over the horizon to light the way in search of a verse to match the recall. Once upon a hook there was a line and a sinker fishing for a verse; the words were there I saw the poem walk the plank, the stanzas couldn’t swim, they disappeared taking the meanings with it. On the beach today a stanza was washed up along the shore, the rest of the poem seemed fragmented, broken wrecked with all the other shells of information. I saw a crab scurry with a few words, seagulls carried the rest and the flow was gone. © 2021 andrew mitchell |
