Verse overboard starboard side!

Verse overboard starboard side!

A Poem by andrew mitchell

In the heat
of the moment
to be captured
on a wave of the missing
the sun will rise
over the horizon
to light the way
in search of a verse
to match the recall.

Once upon a hook
there was a line
and a sinker
fishing for a verse;
the words were there
I saw the poem
walk the plank,
the stanzas couldn’t swim,
they disappeared
taking the meanings
with it.

On the beach
today a stanza
was washed up
along the shore,
the rest of the poem
seemed fragmented, broken
wrecked with all the other shells
of information.
I saw a crab scurry
with a few words,
seagulls carried the rest
and the flow was gone.

At least you are riding the wave, the ebb and flow of poetry. Your personifications are amazing. Cheers to your talent(Coffee in hand).
I'm hoping the seagulls drop some of your work all the way from Australia to the US. It will be in the news.

King Sami, your words are encouraging and bring smiles to any poet having his works read such as me.
