I’m just saying

I’m just saying

A Poem by andrew mitchell

Now, if there was
a God,
God would be
looking down at me
and thinking this man
needs to stop working,
he has contributed much
and deserves a break
righteously so.
Let him continue
with his writing
and may he never
have to work again
under my rule.
And so God
contacted me
the very next day
to say: Andrew,
you must buy
this week’s X lotto
ticket for Saturday
for you will
win first prize
and will live
the rest of your days
a free man
to spend your time
as you wish
with not a money
worry in the World.
Yes , you’ve earned it,
enjoy Andrew.
Oh! Thank you God,
you are too kind.

Of course,
then I woke up,
and off to work
Monday again.
