A Poem by andrew mitchell

In search of peace
he lost today
banking on tomorrow
to be at
heaven’s gate
but the door
was closed
it was never there
if only he
had lived today
war is coming again
from religious grounds
in the name of God
while the sun shines
he rushes to build
the stairway to heaven
but it’s too late
the enemy are
using an escalator
In the belief
he followed
he was out witted,
out played,
he had little faith
if only he could paint,
he would paint
a better future.

Ahh ... yes we would ALL be better off if we could ALL paint a little more. Creative beauty is found in creating beautifully. A fine poetic allegory:)

In other words, religion can be a double- edged sword.

Many horrendous crimes, heinous wars and destructive campaigns were done in the name of God.
Many good things were done by wise believers in the name of God to be fair. I like the second group . Faith was mean to get us close to God, to love, to peace, common humanity, morality, to find some kind of meaning and purpose. It was not meant to do evil things.
But as someone said: Religion can be another form of government, a tool to control the masses, to brainwash them and RIP them off of their hard- earned money.
Long live the Emperor!

I've always found it weird how some people live their entire lives based on whatever will happen after we die. Totally mystifying (((HUGS)))

Wars are always based on religion and that is why I no longer practice what I once believed in. My God is better than your God. My God is the only God. It's all a load of cobblers. Mother nature serves me well these days. I think all of us would like to paint a better future Andrew. Happy Sunday.
