Pennies from heaven

There were no
pawns in heaven
only kings and queens:
the jester said.
Pennies from heaven anyone?

There were those
who said they
spoke to God
but I saw an angel
and she said.

There’s a bargain for you
at the corner antique shop
down the road.
It’s on the round table:
be quick and look
for the goblet
Sir Knight of bargains fair.

And so I did.

A very smart take on the chess game, religion, life in general, money...
As I read this, I feel that royalty resides in their own heaven, away from the poor and needy. Splendid in their regalia, they claim prestige and power. No need for pennies, for they own wealth upon wealth.
Another read, I feel you are talking about a pawn shop, where people pawn their valuables for pennies on the dollar.
