The Starman fossilised in space

The Starman fossilised in space

A Poem by andrew mitchell

Where he stood
Earth had eroded
around him.
Now an image
pitted against
space itself.
The Sun, the Moon
and the stars
looked on at the
new space oddysey -
a being
of self importance
now reduced to
that of a organism
that once lived.
Where his shadow
has become
the black hole
of self
and he is
just a pin prick.
