The brain divided

The brain divided

A Poem by andrew mitchell

I was losing thoughts
to the infighting
of the hemispheres.
The left mechanical,
and desensitised in
its decision making:
more inclined to self interest
while the right hemisphere
having had the freedom
of breadth, flexibility,
generosity and rationality:
was feeling threatened.
The invasion swift,
creative thoughts lost,
western ways questioned,
the war goes on.
I write in haste
I write with heart
knowing the over dominant left
is watching and advancing.

(I write in haste I write with heart knowing the over dominant left is watching and advancing.) Sadly...how true this is. Great write and very appropriate. ~Sharon

Wow! Even war is raging in your brain. It is making headline news. A house divided upon itself can not stand. Your empire will stand Emperor.
I love the contrast you show between the hemispheres. How about N and S poles????

Thank you Pat.
Clever write Andrew. Great metaphor here for our current East/West divide. Such a pity we can't all live in peace and harmony, which is what the vast majority of our species wants.
