Will tomorrow bring home a classic?

Will tomorrow bring home a classic?

A Poem by andrew mitchell

If you expect this poem
to be picture perfect,
angelic to the core
arranged in the strict
orderly poetic structure
in every sense
of the word
Proper!
Forget it!
This write is full
of deception,
no happy endings here.
Totally passionless
in your face, full frontal
notorious, meaningless,
raw gobbledygook.
It’s already out of print
due to its unpopularity,
and above all
wasting your precious time.
This write is so
close to being murdered
more than you think!
Yes! The poem is missing
possibly foul play
while you were reading.
Yes! You!
Under your watch
right under your nose.
How could you,
you the reader
and now we wait
anxiously for
the ransom.

Meanwhile, at the police station.
How would you describe
this missing poem?
It was a classic, I tell you!
Never to be repeated.

Ha-ha! This gave me a good chuckle! A poet's take on the fisherman's tale (the one that got away). A clever and inventive write! I enjoyed the read!

THank you Robert, I’m glad you liked it.
Ah, great wisdom, self depreciation and wit. What more could one ask for. Thank you Andrew for brightening my day.

I love your work dear Andrew. You give life to the forgotten. A amazing poem my friend. I love your books. You create characters we want to remember. Thank you for the outstanding poetry.
