Black on black

Black on black

A Poem by andrew mitchell

It was dark days indeed
and quite frankly sad
at shadows anonymous-
shadows without partners.
Yes their partners have
have all passed on
into the afterlife
leaving a shady gathering.

Made me think of aging and funerals. I am getting to know many now who have lost their partner and now contemplate a new life without them. Devastating and the world does appear black. I just thought of Amy Winehouse and her great song Back to Black. That reflects loss so well. Thanks Andrew.

You too Chris.
Good people do wear black.
I know too many people who have lost their partners.
it can be a lonely, lonely world out there.
