Life as we know it

Life as we know it

A Poem by andrew mitchell

In the news today
the world is in chaos -
the meaning for all life
has been stolen, lost
or possibly off line.
Commuters to work
are at a standstill.
In some parts of the world
people are shell shocked,
the silence is deafening.
While in most parts
people are angry
not knowing what to do.
There is a man
with his pants down,
he doesn’t know
whether to pull them up.
A couple naked in bed
want to know
what to do now?
Whose move is it?
Many are wandering
the streets lonely, confused
on where to now?
Their roads are unmarked.
Is this the end?

We interrupt this break
with a news update.
The meaning of life
has been found,
it’s back online
possibly through
God intervention.
So it’s business as usual
and choose your meaning well.

And it’s over to the weather.
Well tonight it’s
brass monkey weather
so batten down
those kilts and dresses
climate change is here.

I think that naked couple should invest in a GPS.

Are you John poking fun at my silly writes lol. Thanks John.
The meaning of life Andrew. The never ending question. I decided the meaning of life is a 6 zo glass of Irish whiskey, a very cold beer and good company. Away from the city and the people. Good morning my friend and thank you for sharing your thoughts and some wisdom.
