What did you just say?

What did you just say?

A Poem by andrew mitchell

Someone said thank you
the other day.
No way! You must be
hearing things.
Nope I heard it
clear as day.
Well! I’ll be...
so some people
still say those words.
Hard to believe.
I know! Who would have thought!
You sure it was thank you?
Positive!
Well! Well! Well! The audacity of it all.
To think Its still out there.
I know. It’s just ludicrous
in this day and age.
Ok, we better keep
this to ourselves.
What don’t tell anyone?
No! They’ll think we’re weird
or something.

It’s a sad state of affairs when manners have flown out of the window. A simple thank you is just polite behavior. A sign of the times Andrew. You make your point well.

yes, words seldom said any more.

Bless you...with a sneeze...seldom heard...and certainly a response of Thank you...to that.
same.
manners are sitting, getting dusty in some attic of etiquette.
