We’re all in this together

We’re all in this together

A Poem by andrew mitchell

When the meaningfulness
was made
to be broken
into meaningless
piles of no importance
the simplicity of life
was lived better.

Beware of the Holy ghost
that has never lived.

In the book
of the truly dead
one saw night moves
while the book
on the living
were told
don’t move
until the shepherd
has spoken.

And so in the gathering
the shepherd said blah blah
and the sheep responded
baa baa!

And in the name of the shepherd
lambs were sent to war -
to protect the grass laid
for future generations.

After the conflict
had ended in victory
the now sheep
were herded, controlled,
their wool off their backs
sacrificed to keep the shepherd warm.

Of course, surviving lambs
became meat lover’s fodder -
the taste of barbecue.

In the world of baa
beware….
the shepherd
becoming a fox
he has a sweet taste
for meat.

Oh, Andrew- this is like a wolf in lamb's wool, the bite a bit disguised but it has very big teeth.
Lightened here and there by familiar vernacular, which seems lighthearted but is quite sardonic.
A heralding, a warning
and a condemnation of false truths too
This is so good
Just the second stanza alone is awesome sauce
