Peace and tranquillity eh! Yeah! Right!

Peace and tranquillity eh! Yeah! Right!

A Poem by andrew mitchell

All I asked for
was a simple life
just a simple life
and then..
at the end
to be laid to rest
in the coffin
for eternal peace.
But no my soul
had to go to heaven
didn’t it.
It is so crowded
up here you can’t breathe.
It’s bumper to bumper
souls I tell you,
and all I wanted
was to be left alone
enjoying the solitude.
Shut up! I can’t think.
There’s no room up here
and they keep on coming.
Luckily, they don’t come by boat!
It’s just so overpopulated
with souls that I can feel
a climate change already.
And to make things worse
I’ve just seen
my mother in law.
Hello mum! How did you get here?
