Escape into meanings

Escape into meanings

A Poem by andrew mitchell

What footsteps
should one take
on the multifaceted path?
Only the one
that cuts the deepest
for only when
you have carried
your own water
will you know
the value
of each drop.
Life is no handout
when you have
to crawl to get it.

Exactly. There are those that would not lift a finger though they could and make worms of those that need to crawl - there are no handouts in life, their version of lunchtime legend, their lunchtime all the way til tea.

Thank you Frederick and I agree.
This is old fashion wisdom Andrew.

the value
of each drop."
Had the feel of Hemingway advice to me in his words. Love, suffer and taste the sweetness and the bitterness of life. Then you will know the value of the new day. Thank you my friend for sharing the outstanding poetry.
