A stanza placed in a lion’s mouth

A stanza placed in a lion’s mouth

A Poem by andrew mitchell

No verse
on a noose
is ready
for its maker
especially when
the word was given
on a promise
that all things
should live
in the minds
of its readers
until such time
one hears
the devil’s laughter.

It could still live but amid an infernal holocaust to accompany the devil's laughter.
