No more meanings!

No more meanings!

A Poem by andrew mitchell

Are your phrases
looking a bit
ambiguous lately?
Verses that had
a one and only meaning
now come across
confusing, lost
leaving you the writer
and the reader bewildered.
Well don’t despair
it’s completely normal.
But if you are still
tripping over your verses
that are not tied
to one meaning
then you need
No More Meanings!
Just one spray
over your poem
and whammy
the meaning is gone
forever.
Of course, conditions
of no meanings do apply.
Yes it’s bye bye
meaningless jargon,
the seriousness of it all
only to be left with nothing
a carcass of words
with grammar notations
flying around buzzing busily
in search of reason.
And there’s nothing worse
than stepping on
a meaning which
sticks to your under sole
of your shoe
giving purpose
in your travels.
I’m lost for meanings!

"a carcass of words" is a cool phrase for a dead phrase. I like it.

Shades of Monty Python with this one - nicely witty and I do know what you are saying. Some modern English Poetry by well-known names may as well be written in Italian.

maybe being flummoxed is where it's at.
Might be too hard to digest if we actually figure it out.
