At the Geek poetry olympics

A Poem by andrew mitchell

At the Geek poetry olympics
see two verses
fight it out
to the bitter end.
Word has it
punctuation marks
are in full flight
as a question mark
hangs in the balance.
See stanzas jostle
for supremacy
as the grammar battalion
looks on.
A Title called Scrabble
launches forward
words scramble
for cover in fear
that the meaning
would be lost.
Will the slaves
to conformity, the purists
fall to the freedom fighters,
the rogues ?
Probably not,
the world is not ready
for Geek poetry olympics,
and that’s a sentence for you.
Lock ‘em up!
