A drink of gold merrily

A drink of gold merrily

A Poem by andrew mitchell

Within the room
laughter displayed
at the bar
beer consumed
a fight breaks out
shattered glass
amongst drunken hoons,
boys in blue
order takeaways;
drive a paddy wagon full.
Another round
amber gold
peace restored
noise surrounds
wet tongues wagging
pub life returns
to normal.
