Lost for words

Lost for words

A Poem by andrew mitchell

I had a relationship
with a word once
a word called love
but then love
broke up with me.
Distraught I got
embroiled with hate
which left a scar
when I found
the word peace.
Now with English etymology
on my trail I find
hello knocking
on the front door
as goodbye leaves
through the window.
I’m lost for words.
