Blurred boundaries

Blurred boundaries

A Poem by andrew mitchell

In the blurring
of the boundaries
I stand at the corner
where the street lamp
shines light on a black coat
my silhouette;
there I see
my shadow stretch
pulled by time’s light
trying to run away.

The contrast between dark and light make this poem shine (pun intended). This poem plays like a silent movie in my mind, watching a figure take a long walk on a dark night, reflecting on both the past and the future as they watch their shadows tell a story of its own. Nicely done.
