Up periscope

A Poem by andrew mitchell

I’m just a thought
on a rock
hurtling through space.
Just a thought on a rock
that’s just one of three point two
trillion planets in our galaxy.
Just a thought warmed
by the sun that is just one of
two hundred billion stars
in the Milky Way
where the Milky Way
is just one of two trillion
galaxies in the observable universe.
I’m just a thought
of no real significance
travelling through time
weighing up the scale
of possibilities wondering
where does heaven fit
in this galaxy of galaxies,
and how man appears
to over rate his importance
in the scope of things
as the size of Earth
is just a mere pin prick
on an A4 paper as comparison.
And the chances of being born
as I am with my own unique DNA
is one in twenty trillion.
Yes! Here I am
just a thought
in the mix with minuscule man
and in the scale of all things universal
an invisible man whose
buying a stairway to heaven
just for the record.

This poem is a **stunning humbling of human ego**, placing our existence against the vast, indifferent cosmos—yet it’s also a **quiet celebration of the miracle of being here at all**.

Wow!
A great poem on our place and importance in this vast universe or universes.
From up here, we see a small dot.
A big ego Orangee though. Hehehe.
Lots of big time egoists like that thinking they got all the power, rule the world, have immense wealth that they won't take to the grave, see others as ants.

You are welcome sir Andrew.
How insignificant we are in the bigger picture Andrew, and yet all of us have our own unique DNA. Our journey, a mere pin prick in time. Good to read you again. Hope all is good in your world.
