I Can Finally Be Me

Just some thoughts expressed in poetry.. This was kinda my thinking process, I was thinking about how I'm not good enough, but then I realized I'm getting better. Well, I hope you enjoy (:

I'm sorry I can't be perfect,
Extremely skinny and pretty,
That's what people want,
But it's quite hard to achieve.

I've always struggled with,
Loving myself, how I look,
So many insults and rumors,
My confidence, they took.

I was left kind of broken,
My reflection hated me,
But now the love of my life,
Is beginning to set me free.

I've gotten a little more confident.
In myself, I've begun to believe,
I've stood tall against the insults,
And now I can finally be me.

I like the positive ending. People can be mean and with age. We learn to keep our distance from them. No perfect person. We are given gifts and a wise person runs with them and enjoy life with real friends. I like the flow of thoughts and the excellent ending. A outstanding poem.
