I'll Lock My Heart Away

Alright, I'm trying to be happy since you were all complaining about how sad I was :P It's not as sad as my last few poems, still kind of emotional though. Tell me what you think, if you'd like (:

No more wishes at 11:11,
Laughs and loving kisses before bed,
Never again will I be like that,
'Til I'm sure he means what he's said.

I won't open my heart up,
'Til I'm sure I can actually trust,
I won't get my heart broken again,
True love and smiles are a must.

I'm tired of all the crying,
All of these wasted tears,
Really wish I could stop,
But they just seem to appear.

I guess heartbreak causes tears,
No matter how strong you are,
You can't hold it all in forever,
Like locking emotions in a jar.

But I will lock my heart away,
My true love will have the key,
Then I can finally be happy again,
Once he sets my heart free.

First off, great job!! Second, I understand that your hurting and its hard to trust right now but make sure not to head straight to trust issues. Let's just yours truly has a hard time trusting anyone with my emotions, my heart, my secrets, you name it. Don't go to that point, you'll regret, it makes things significantly harder in the end

I won't be that bad, I'm just saying that the person who I spend my life with has to be the person I love the most and the person I'm closest to. I allowed myself to be that vulnerable, and then my heart got broken. So, I won't allow myself to be like that, completely, until I'm absolutely sure of him.

Good idea, just make sure not to shut people out, even if they aren't the "one" I've been shutting people out most of my life and it seems like Prince Charming is farther and farther away, but you seem smart, I know you'll be ok :)

Being strong is the philosophy, but not in a fake-smile-and-I'm-fine kind of way. You've got to be strong in a kind of way that shines through your poetry - true, feminine and independant.
