Guilty

Guilty

A Poem by Amanda Renee

Guilty

It all can start with a bicycle being taken away,

Or deporting a green card holder

Who is kept at bay,

Awaiting another trail, for another day.

A voice waiting to be discovered,

But only too late,

A diary that Inspired a generation, who

Would mostly,

Sit and wait.

There are tragic times when what can hurt most is removed or destroyed. Anything that can metaphorically cut out a person's heart. Once in Europe a couple of us was talking with the woman owner of a cafe owner. We asked about the time of WWll and was told that some X soldiers complete with officer came into the house and looked around, saw a violin lying on a table and asked whose it was.. was told it wby the woman's father it was his and had been his grandfather. The officer picked it up and said it was a magnificent instrument, the owner must be so proud of it. Owner nodded and the officer dropped it, then.. stamped on it. The shock lasted with the owner for months.. when he died.

Enough said, and that is truth and nothing but. Could describe the cafe, it's roof was/is a very unusual shape.

As Jacob said, this reminded me of Anne Frank too. and besides that, reminds me the seizure officers more. A seizure officer with a broken heart came to take the children's toys. This is really sad. It's amazing to be able to influence the reader with so few words. Great poem

Makes me feel Anne Frank with this one.
And we have a modern day situation that is vastly similar to those awful times.
I want that bicycle back.
