A Forgotten Book Room in a Public School

A Forgotten Book Room in a Public School

A Poem by Amanda Renee
"

A poem I wrote after I found a stack of neglected copies of "Anne of the Green Gables" by L.M. Montgomery

"

All of these letters and words,

Trapped in a room,

Appreciated only by booklice-

As humans drone by,

Unaware of all of it’s

Brilliance.

If the high note of lemonade were to shift minor key back to mere lemons, it could feel like this - and just as sharply tug the brow with sudden solemnity.

Another very concise and poignant poem, Amanda. It's final line of appreciation acutely underscores the sense of loss and oversite.

On a deeper level, it could serve as commentary on unrecognised writers in the present day. And even, still, the undeveloped potential of authentically voiced creative expression, "as humans drone by" - imaginable in great swarms of constant digital consumption and a.i. as mechanical muse.

Your poem is a sniper with profound awareness of bullseye!
